The Christian Response
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
- We are created male and female. To change that is a perversion of God’s creation.
- God created you as you should be. You should not try to change that.
“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”
“Thou shall not covet.”
Gender dysphoria is someone coveting another’s genitals.
“A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing.”
“No one who has been emasculated by crushing or cutting may enter the assembly of the LORD.”
This includes any man who gets surgery that involves removing the testicles.
Ref: Nehemiah 13:1-3
The “assembly of the Lord” could mean marry into an Israeli family. Another translation of Nehemiah reads, “congregation of God”.
Thus a man with missing or otherwise non-working testicles (except congenital conditions) cannot marry a woman.
“Have you not read that who created them from the beginning made them male and female?”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
“Or do you not know that wrongdoers* will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
Because of Deuteronomy 22:5, transgender falls under the heading “sexually immoral”.
* NIV uses “wrongdoers”; NKJV uses “unrighteous”
1 Corinthians 11:14-15
“Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory?”
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (NIV)
“Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.” (ASV)
Being saved by Jesus changes you. This “transgender” thing is just a choice after that.
